# Client-Server Mode

Bitbox was originally designed to run on a single computer as a standalone app. Given the ever-increasing computational demands of backend processors, such as the need for multiple GPUs, we are also developing a Bitbox Server that can be installed on a workstation and accessed by client computers (*e.g.*, personal laptops).
